Set against exposed white brick walls that pay homage to this brand’s working roots, comes a ‘touch of class’ at the Westfield Stratford City branch of Dr Martens.   Design 4 Retail have truly grasped the core values of this iconic boot and shoe retailer and created a suitably quirky, eclectic store environment of which Dr Martens can be proud!

In line with its heritage, a dark colour palette has been applied to the raw, industrial perimeter.  Oxblood red feature walls and sofas, plus the large dark oak entrance bring style and sophistication to this new concept and elevate this formidable brand to new heights.  Cobblestones set into a wood floor add further authenticity to the brand. 

From the windows to the very back of the store much consideration has been given to the customer journey and the theme has been carried throughout.  Contemporary, stainless steel slatwall shelving displays boots and clothing.  A retro juke box plays music from an MP3 player.  Retro styled cabinetry displays shoes, clothing and accessories.  Leather sofas and state of the art digital technology mix together seamlessly, creating a traditional shoe shop feel with a modern twist. The new scheme enhances and reinforces the brand’s essence and contrasts with the stark white of the brick walls. Coloured wooden lasts suspended on the ends of flexible, black stems create a real show stopper, sprouting from the entire exposed back wall and the ceiling.  These can be seen from all over the store and complete the look!

Taking inspiration from the SoHo store in New York, the designers have created a commercially viable interior fitout, with more generic shopfittings suitable for rollout.  The finished concept, which fulfils the original design brief perfectly, leaves behind DM’s industrial roots in place of a much more fashion orientated and exciting store and image.
